These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your booking and stay at Dar Maureen, a private riad located at Derb Al Arsa, Sidi Youb, Marrakech Medina, Morocco ("the Property"). By making a reservation, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before booking.

1. The Property

Dar Maureen is a private riad accommodating up to 6 guests across three individually designed rooms: The Suite, The Pool Room, and The Gold Room. The property includes a private indoor pool, a rooftop terrace, a patio, and communal salons, all of which are for the exclusive use of guests during the stay.

2. Reservation and Confirmation

A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of written confirmation from us. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking at our sole discretion, in which case any amounts paid will be refunded in full.

For direct bookings, a deposit of 50% of the total stay amount is required to confirm the reservation, with the balance due 15 days prior to arrival.

3. Check-In and Check-Out

• Check-in: from 14:00 (2:00 PM)
• Check-out: by 12:00 (noon)

Early check-in and late check-out may be arranged subject to availability. Please notify us in advance. Guests arriving outside of standard hours must contact us in advance so that we can ensure a smooth welcome.

4. Cancellation Policy

For direct bookings, our cancellation policy is as follows:

• Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival: full refund of the deposit
• Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival: 50% of the total stay amount is retained

5. Included Services

The following is included in your stay:

• Moroccan breakfast prepared each morning by Khadija, served in the patio or on the terrace
• Exclusive use of all common areas: patio, pool, salons, rooftop terrace
• Free Wi-Fi throughout the property
• Daily housekeeping
• Concierge assistance from Khadija and the team

6. Optional Services

The following services are available on request and at additional cost:

• Airport transfers (fixed rate)
• In-riad dining: lunch and dinner at €15 per person (24-hour advance notice required)
• In-house massage sessions on request
• Private guided day excursions
• Hammam reservations

7. House Rules

Guests agree to treat the property, its furnishings, and its staff with respect. The following rules apply throughout the stay:

• Smoking is not permitted inside the house. Smoking is permitted on the rooftop terrace and patio only.
• For security reasons, inviting people from outside into the house is strictly prohibited at any time of day or night.
• Pets are permitted in the house subject to prior agreement.
• The maximum occupancy is 6 guests. Accommodating additional guests requires prior written agreement.
• Parties, loud gatherings, and events are strictly prohibited.
• Guests must respect the residential character of the medina neighbourhood and maintain quiet between 22:00 and 08:00.
• The pool is for the exclusive use of riad guests. Children must be supervised at all times near the pool.
• Only persons named on the reservation may enter the house without prior agreement.
• Bringing or consuming illegal substances on the premises is strictly prohibited.
• Sex tourism is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate eviction and legal proceedings.
• All rooms are non-smoking.

8. Damage and Liability

Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the property, its furnishings, or equipment during their stay. The cost of any repairs or replacements will be charged to the guest. We reserve the right to charge a security deposit of €500, which will be fully refunded within 7 days of check-out provided no damage is found.

Dar Maureen accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage to guests' personal belongings. We strongly recommend travel insurance covering personal property.

9. Pool Use

The indoor pool is available for guests throughout their stay. Guests use the pool entirely at their own risk. Dar Maureen accepts no liability for injury or accident arising from pool use.

10. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for failure to provide services due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, civil unrest, government restrictions, pandemic-related measures, or other acts of force majeure. In such cases, we will make every effort to offer alternative dates or a partial refund.

11. Photography and Social Media

Guests are welcome to photograph and share images of the property for personal use. We kindly ask that any public posts tag or mention Dar Maureen. Photos taken within the property must not include other guests without their consent.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Moroccan law. Any disputes arising in connection with your booking or stay at Dar Maureen shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Marrakech, Morocco.
